Meet Ginger, the Curious Cat
Ginger, our playful cat, is nearing her first birthday. Her lively personality is as catchy as her domain name… CATchy. Get it? 😛
One of the unexpected joys of the year (2024) has been the arrival of Ginger, my new cat. After the loss of Frisky in April 2023, I didn’t realize just how much having a pet truly impacts your life. Ginger has brought a comforting presence into my home, and I’ve learned that having a cat means you always have someone waiting for you when you return. Without her, my apartment felt like nothing more than a place to sleep. Now, it feels like home again.
Ginger’s Color in Web Design
In web design, Ginger represents a bright shade of orange with the hex code #B06500. This vibrant color adds warmth and stands out, just like her.
A Nod to Early Internet Days
If you recall the early 2000s, you might remember this domain’s past as vlogger Ella Morton’s blog about her NYC adventures from 2009 to 2012. Those authentic blogs felt like treasures in a new digital world. She disappeared off the net and was one of the many blogs that have disappeared over time, replaced by social media which had become so trashy.
Reviving Personal Blogs
In a fast-paced content world, I’m inspired to bring back the charm of personal blogs. While social media is quick, there’s something special about discovering a blog that offers a glimpse into real lives—like Ginger’s. Let’s celebrate storytelling and encourage others to share their unique stories.
So I decided to revive a little piece of internet history and maybe bring back some of the old magic from the original internet. The socials are fine for those who like to consume content but for others who like to explore the net, finding a good blog about a real person, or maybe even a cat, was golden.
About the Author
I’m just an old school web designer who happens to have a love affair with the blogosphere. I will sometimes write about the cat but I mostly don’t know where I am going with this space. I may use it to inspire me to take some adventures up in my middle age. For now… who knows.
