Video: Dance Your Way To Success

by Ella on April 20, 2009

Here it is, ladies and gents: the baffling conclusion to the Social Wisdom video trilogy. In previous installments we’ve shown you how to embrace your insecurities via your Facebook profile pic and conducted an investigation into guitaring, heroism and you. Now comes Dance Your Way To Success, an instructional video on how to hipshake your way into people’s affections. Sort of.

Credits
Cast: Ella Morton, Jeremy Brull, Morgan Derera, Paul Ayre and Evelyn Douek

Produced and directed by Ella Morton
Written by Ella Morton and Paul Ayre
Shot by Dave Field
Edited by Emma McKenna
Opening animation by Jayce White

Behind-the-scenes trivia:

  • Main man Jeremy’s mother was in the room next door when we shot the “seduction” sequence.
  • We tried to work in a “nonchalance” gag involving Gary walking into the room holding a bunch of shallots. I was to react to his entrance with an exasperated “Not shallots! Nonchalance!” This was eventually deemed too Dada-esque. (Where “Dada-esque” equals “needlessly stupid, even by our low standards”.)
  • I don’t actually know what this video is about. It was a confusing time for all concerned.
