Your easy chemistry with the Sesame Street characters reminds me of a “talking head” documentary I saw once that talked about how children visit the set and interact with the characters. Children don’t see the adult attached to the muppet – they see only the character.

These videos, especially your “Nom nom nom” interview with Cookie Monster, demonstrate not only your childlike glee at having that opportunity but your excellent presentation skills. Well done!

I love Elmo, and am always surprised when I recall he is played by this rather tall black man.

I really enjoyed the interviews you had with our furry friends. Seriously, they’ve been on for so long, and are so much part of our social psyche, that they can be considered as old friends I must admit, I am a bit envious that you get to trade banter and dance with them, even get your own “Ella’s world” song. But that smile you have during the interviews made the green eyed non-Sesame Street monster go away.

I was looking for some videos of Sesame Street when I found your interview with Cookie Monster.
I’ve watched it a few times, so far, and it never ceases to amaze me. There’s such a chemistry between Cookie Monster and you. It’s such a pity that we don’t have Sesame Street in English here in Brazil. The RocketBoom interview led me to other videos you shot and to A Sprinkle of Ginger and Rocket Boom itself, wich I didn’t knew. You’re very charismatic as an entertainer . Keep up the good work!

A friend of mine linked the Cookie Monster interview on Facebook and from there I have become a fan of you. You’re blog and videos are so much fun, and you seem to have an amazing personality. It almost makes me wish I still lived in NYC in the off chance I would meet you on the street, in a totally non-creepy the way you wanted to meet Gillian Anderson way.

Another great piece of work. I hate to admit my age but I grew up on Sesame Street, the early years, and I’m glad to see that Sesame Street is alive and well after all these years and generating interest from new media like your blog and Rocketboom. Thanks for the smiles. .

Ella! Your Sesame Street interviews are a categorical delight! To begin, your rapport with the characters makes them absolutely real; it’s like some sort of soul-to-soul relationship. You do a great job of conveying the significance of the creatures and their world. Most of all, and this can’t be understated, you are just a gem. Keep believing in yourself with abandon!
